Giant custard cream biscuits, layered with a creamy vanilla mascarpone, custard and coffee. Topped with a final layer of vanilla custard and custard cream buttery biscuits

Layers of giant custard cream biscuits are lightly soaked in coffee and stacked with a smooth vanilla mascarpone and custard filling. Each layer is soft but structured, creating that classic tiramisu style slice with a custardy twist.
The top is finished with a generous layer of vanilla custard and decorated with custard cream biscuits, giving it that instantly recognisable look and a little crunch against the creamy layers.
This is a creamy retro inspired dessert, with a custardy twist on the classic tiramisu. The familiar flavour of custard cream biscuits with coffee soaked layers make it instantly comforting, like you're having a cup of coffee with a biscuit.
Serves: 8-10
Prep time: 25 minutes
Chill: 4-5 hours or overnight
Ingredients
🍪 6 x M&S Giant Custard Cream Biscuits
🍮 M&S Fresh Custard – 150g (for cream mix), 100g (middle layer), 150g (top layer)
🥛 300g Double Cream
🧀 250g Mascarpone
🍬 3 tsp Icing Sugar
🌿 1 tsp Vanilla Paste
☕️ 1 cup Strong Coffee + 2 Sugars
Method
Prepare your strong cup of coffee adding a couple of sugars, set aside and allow to cool.
In a mixing bowl whisk your double cream, icing sugar and vanilla to form soft peaks.
In a small bowl or plate use a fork to mix your mascarpone cream, just to loosen the consistency.
Add a couple of spoons of the double cream mixture to the mascarpone and mix together, now you can add this to the double cream mixture, mix together until just combined, then fold in 100g of custard, you don’t want to over mix.
Place 3 giant custard cream biscuits in the bottom of your loaf dish.
Spoon on the cooled coffee over each biscuit.
Add 3 large dollops of cream and smooth the layer.
Add your custard layer using a piping bag or you could spoon it on.
Add another layer of 3 giant biscuits, spoon coffee over each biscuit, then add the last cream layer.
Use a spatula to get a smooth top, then pour a generous amount of custard over the top and smooth to the corners of your dish.
Decorate with regular sized custard creams.
Chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours before serving. Spoon out, serve cold, and enjoy that nostalgic biscuit flavour with every creamy bite!
